Katja Rosasco, Who Has Allergies, Created Her Own Luxury Product Line.
Everyone needs quality products, including those with allergies. In 2021, Katja Rosasco founded her company Meishai with a clear purpose: to offer high-end haircare that is certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic.
Katja Rosasco is a trained hairdresser. For 15 years, she worked in some of the world's best hair salons, where she used salon products that weren't allergy-friendly. However, when she returned home from work, she only used products certified by Asthma-Allergi Denmark. Katja herself has allergies.
Katja wanted to create an allergy-friendly haircare line that matched the high quality of the products she used in her professional career as a hairdresser. With over a decade of experience in the hairdressing industry, Katja knew exactly what she wanted to create. She aimed to develop quality haircare that would meet the criteria for Asthma Allergy Nordic, a certification partly overseen by Asthma-Allergi Denmark. In 2021, Katja's company, Meishai, was founded.
“Even if you have allergies, you still want to feel sexy, and you still appreciate quality and great design. I’ve created a product line that proves you can absolutely make allergy-friendly haircare that can compete with the big brands you see on the shelves in salons and high-end stores. These products are made for everyone with allergies but also for those who want to avoid developing them over time. Additionally, they’re designed for hairdressers who can now have an allergy-friendly line in their salons without compromising on quality or design,” explains Katja.
Customers and Hairdressers Are Asking for Allergy-Friendly Options
Katja Rosasco sees a growing demand from both customers and professional hairdressers seeking an allergy-friendly alternative. One of the reasons Katja developed her hair products was to meet the rising demand for allergy-friendly options, which are increasingly gaining traction.
“The fact that we are certified by Asthma Allergy Nordic means we are helping protect those who already have allergies and helping others avoid developing them in the future. At Meishai, we are proud to offer our customers high-performance haircare that meets Asthma Allergy Nordic's strict criteria. We believe in a new way of thinking and creating hair products, and we’ve been excited to share our vision,” Katja says.
When you see Asthma Allergy Nordic's logos on products, including those from Meishai, you can be sure the product contains no fragrance or allergy-causing ingredients, and that Asthma Allergy Nordic has critically evaluated its content. If a product does not meet the requirements for allergy certification, it cannot be awarded the Asthma Allergy Nordic label.
