In 2021, Danish hairdresser Katja Rosasco founded Meishai with a clear purpose: to offer Asthma Allergy Nordic-certified, high-performance haircare for everyone. Born with allergies and later falling in love with hair, Katja faced a personal challenge – working in an industry filled with beautiful products she couldn’t use herself. With over a decade of experience, she developed a unique vision for allergy-friendly, fragrance-free haircare that would be safe for her, without compromising on quality or design. Meishai represents the fusion of her sensitivity and creativity.
To Katja, Meishai is not just a brand – it’s a way of expressing beauty with authenticity. It reflects her distinct perspective on design, aesthetics, and care. The name "Meishai" blends two words full of meaning and elegance. “Mei,” from Japanese, is often associated with beauty, elegance, and simplicity. “Shai,” from Hebrew, means “gift” or “present.” Together, Meishai represents the idea of beauty as a thoughtful, intentional gift – and a commitment to creating allergy-friendly products for sensitive skin and scalp that promote well-being and elegance in the gentlest way possible.
