Helle has created a shared studio space in the heart of Copenhagen, where some of the city’s most talented hairdressers work side by side. It’s a space built on trust, care, and community – where creativity and calm coexist, and every client is met with presence and precision.
What sets Helle apart is her calm energy and ability to listen – not just to hair, but to people. Her approach is subtle yet intentional, always rooted in enhancing what feels natural and true for the individual. Whether she's cutting, colouring, or styling, Helle's touch is light, thoughtful, and effortlessly elegant.
We sat down with Helle for a talk into all things hair: her personal ritual, the Meishai product she won’t go without this summer, and what we’ll be seeing more of this season. Most importantly, she shares her expert tips on how to keep your hair healthy and beautiful – even when the sun is strong, the breeze is salty, and summer takes over.
What does beauty mean to you?
To me, beauty is a whole – a balance between body and mind. Hair plays a central role in how we feel about ourselves and how we radiate that outward. We all know the feeling of stepping out the door with our head held high and our confidence intact – that’s the feeling I love to evoke in my clients.
As we move toward sun and summer, what are the most common concerns you hear from your clients about their hair?
Summer brings light and life – but also challenges for the hair. Chlorine from pools can be harsh, so I always remind my clients to wash their hair thoroughly after swimming. Saltwater, on the other hand, can create a fantastic effect – especially for curly or wavy hair, where it really enhances texture and movement.
What are your own best tips for caring for hair when the sun is shining, the wind is blowing, and the saltwater is calling?
I always recommend using a light serum or oil to maintain moisture and shine. Products that melt into the hair without weighing it down are worth their weight in gold – especially in summer, when hair needs extra nourishment while still feeling light and airy.
Are there any hair trends you're particularly excited about this summer?
I think we’re moving in a beautiful direction where the natural look is getting more attention. It’s no longer just about trends, but about finding what feels right for the individual. I love seeing more people embracing their natural waves and textures – it creates such a vibrant and authentic expression. In the salon, I work a lot with lowlights and balayage – the soft, sun-kissed look is still incredibly popular!
What does your own haircare routine look like – and does it change when the sun and heat take over?
I wash my hair about once a week – always shampooing twice, followed by conditioner or a nourishing leave-in treatment. I style with my Dyson Airwrap, which gives the most wonderful, airy result. I always use heat protection and finish with a serum or oil to lock in moisture and add shine.
If you could only choose one Meishai product this summer – which would it be, and why?
Definitely Meishai Heat Protection! I love that it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy – it protects the hair effectively while leaving it light and glossy. A true must-have product!
What or who inspires you most when it comes to hair, beauty, and working creatively with your hands?
I find inspiration everywhere – in nature, in the light, in the movement of water, in the people around me. Having my studio right in the heart of Copenhagen means I meet exciting and creative souls every day, and that inspires me deeply. I love being curious about the whole picture – not just the hair, but the full expression.
